Isamu Noguchi - Akari light sculptures – UFO

Inspired by a trip to a small Japanese village, where the American-Japanese artist and designer Isamu Noguchi had observed fishing men with lanterns in paper and bamboo – Noguchi created his characteristically and ambient paper lamps, which are all handmade and still produced on the same factory in Japan. The Akari Light Sculptures - akari meaning light in Japanese – are a harmonious blend of Japanese handcraft and modernist form.
