Zanotta Leonardo Wooden Trestle Legs
The Leonardo trestle legs was designed by Achille Castiglioni for the manufacturer Zanotta in 1969. It originates from a time of great creative confidence in Italy, when Aurelio Zanotta first founded his design studio. Castiglioni was born in Milan and joined this new creative and technological renaissance. This piece derives from his early years as a designer but still appear contemporary.
Castiglioni's interest for the mechanical and architectural is clear to see in this design. The beautifully constructed trestles can be adjusted from 65 cm to 91 cm to help transform it from a private writing desk into a collaborative work table. Designed as a point of calm in a working environment, it also makes for a great table in the kitchen.
